What the 15% subscription covers
Subscribing takes 15% off and adds free UK delivery. A 50ml balm that costs £21 as a one-off purchase comes to £17.85 on subscription. According to the retailer's subscription page, deliveries arrive every 6, 8 or 10 weeks, you can skip a shipment while you are away, swap fragrances and cancel at any time.
The catch is what sits outside it. Limited edition products, product sets and tools are excluded from subscriptions, so a Starter Set cannot be put on repeat. Buy the set once, then subscribe to the balm you like best.
Starter Set, Discovery Set or a full balm?
The balm comes in five numbered fragrances: Orange Grove, After Thunder, The Onsen, Halcyon Summers and Columbia Road. SC.00 No Notes is the fragrance free option. The Discovery Set suits anyone who cannot choose, and the Starter Set, which the homepage describes as saving over 20%, is the cheaper way into a full tube. Tools are the lowest cost way in, with our deals list showing them from £11.
This is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. The product page says it absorbs perspiration rather than blocking it, and that people switching from an antiperspirant may notice more sweating at first. Judge it on odour and dryness over a few weeks, not on day one.
